This morning, while I was painting furniture in preparation for another season at the Music Patch, my thoughts drifted to the many professionals who have trusted me with the families they serve.
I found myself wishing there were a meaningful way to thank each of you for that trust.
In many professions, a referral might be rewarded with a check, a gift card, or some other financial incentive. In real estate, that’s simply not an option. Florida law prohibits licensed real estate professionals from compensating individuals who are not licensed real estate agents for referrals. Protecting that standard protects both our professions—and the families we serve.
But the more I thought about it, the more I realized something.
The best “thank you” isn’t a financial reward at all.
It’s knowing that every family you entrust to me creates benefits that extend far beyond a successful real estate transaction.
When a senior or their family needs to sell a home, they aren’t just looking for someone to put a sign in the yard. They’re often navigating one of life’s most emotional transitions—moving a loved one into assisted living, settling an estate, downsizing after decades in a cherished home, or helping parents from hundreds or even thousands of miles away.
My role is to become their guide through that process.
I coordinate the countless moving pieces, communicate every step of the way, solve problems before they become crises, and help families move forward with confidence and peace of mind. My goal is simple: to make a difficult season feel a little less overwhelming.
And then something wonderful happens.
As part of every successful transaction, HomeSmart contributes a portion of my compensation to organizations that support seniors throughout Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Those charitable donations are reflected on the closing (ALTA) settlement statement, creating an opportunity for every transaction to give back to the community that gives so much to our seniors.
That means every referral creates a ripple effect.
- Your client wins by having an experienced, compassionate real estate broker who understands the complexities of senior transitions.
- You win knowing the families you’ve worked so hard to support continue to receive the same level of care, communication, and professionalism throughout the sale of their home.
- Our local senior-serving nonprofits win through additional financial support that helps them continue their important work.
- And I win because I have the privilege of serving another family during one of the most significant chapters of their lives.
I believe the strongest professional relationships aren’t built on transactions. They’re built on shared values, mutual trust, and a commitment to making our community stronger.
So, when you’re welcoming a new resident, helping a patient transition to a safer living environment, working with an estate, or supporting an overwhelmed family, one simple question can make all the difference:
“Do you already have someone you trust to help with the sale of the home?”
If the answer is no, I’d be honored to help.
Thank you for the confidence you’ve placed in me over the years. Your trust means more than you know—not only to me, but to every family we serve together and to the organizations throughout Sarasota and Manatee Counties that benefit from every successful closing.
Together, we’re doing more than helping people move.
We’re strengthening the senior care community, one family at a time.
Life changes are hard. Home changes don’t have to be.
